To my eldest brother

Filed under: random — by minhafelicidade @ 10:42

Looking back, I think my eldest brother is an exemplary older brother. Back when I was small, the family pc was in his room, so the youngest trio (my bro, sis, and I) was in his room almost everyday to use it. Can you imagine going home from school and finding the little tykes in your room playing games and basically just being noisy? I’d go ballistic for sure. And kick them out of my room. But I’m the youngest, I never had to tolerate annoying little kids. My eldest bro never ever did that. I don’t recall ever getting kicked out of his room. In fact, I don’t remember ever seeing him angry at us for being in his room.

The one memory I really treasure is whenever he bought the latest edition of Tapak Sakti. Since I couldn’t wait to read after him, I read it together with him. You have to remember  little kids read slowly yet my bro would patiently wait for me to finish before turning the page. He’d always ask, “Udah?” and only turn the page when I had finished.

The only one instance when he was not comfortable at having to take care of us was when my parents told him to accompany us to watch The Lion King at the movies. Before we left, he told my mom that in case any of his friends called, not to tell them that he was accompanying us. He was embarrassed. :D
