kami vs kita

Anda lebih sering menggunakan “kami” atau “kita”? Kalau Anda besar di pulau Jawa berani taruhan anda pakenya “kita”. Dan kalo Anda besar di Medan, pakenya “kami”. I only noticed the difference when I moved to Jakarta. Tepatnya sejak aku sendiri suka pake “kita” baik kalo ngomong aku ataupun ketika yang dimaksud “kami”, tetep aja ngomongnya “kita”. Kalo di Medan sebaliknya, pada kedua situasi tersebut yang digunakan adalah “kami”. Bedanya tidak semua orang begitu, masih ada yang menggunakan “kami” dan “kita” sesuai artinya. Sementara kalo di Jakarta kayaknya jarang banget aku dengar kata “kami”. Kalo ada yang pake, hampir bisa dipastikan, kalo orang itu, meminjam istilah teman saya, adalah orang seberang. Kenapa begitu? Saya juga gak tau. Padahal, kalo baca di wiki, cuman sedikit bahasa yang membedakan “kami” dan “kita” loh (terus napa? ).

My current Obsession: Sherlock. If you haven’t watched the series, you should watch it. Now. Otherwise you’re missing one of the greatest joys in life. Which is: si ganteng Benedict Cumberbatch *fangirl alert. Okay, seriously, Sherlock series make you understand why there’s such a thing as TV. Otherwise you’d think TV is just a stupid box that drain your electricity and add to your monthly bill.

The series is one of the best series ever. They gave me hope for TV after I lost interest in Psych (juliet kissing shawn: so not important a.k.a gak penting banget gitu loch) and Supernatural (making out with an angel? really??). Dino, I’m really sorry I didn’t believe you when you told me about this more than a year ago. But then again, watching two straight seasons feels much more satisfying than one episode at a time, plus if I had to wait more than a year for the second season, I’d be suffering from a really bad sherlock-craving.

At first I planned this post as some sort of review but considering my current state of my mind I suspect that it will only be about my gushing at the lovely creature that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock is and I don’t think anyone would enjoy that so I guess I’ll end this now.
